Indie Photo is proud to be located in Philadelphia’s first Platinum LEED ( Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified building. What does this mean? It means that every effort possible was made to reflect use of the following:
Indie Photo is following in the footsteps of the building’s landlord and developer by creating a green and sustainable retail environment. The vast majority of furniture, fixtures, and showcases were salvaged from thrift stores and Craigslist. The majority of camera gear we sell is of recycled nature. Anything that comes in or out of the store can potentially be reused or recycled, including: disposable cameras, ink, toner, batteries, and paper. In order to reduce the amount of waste attributed by disposable media, we encourage our customers to use reusable usb drives or receive their scans on Dropbox instead of CDs when using our scanning services.
